Mission The mission of Aging Services is
to promote the interests of its not-for-profit members in Maine and New
Hampshire, |
History Northern New England Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (NNEAHSA) was founded on May 18, 1984, at a meeting of representatives of 13 long-term care facilities from Maine and New Hampshire. In January, 1985, an affiliation agreement was signed with the American Association of Homes for the Aging (AAHA), now the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). Over the years, NNEAHSA, now Aging Services, has grown steadily under the guidance of numerous dedicated volunteers. By 1992 membership had grown to over 50 facilities and, in 1993, the first staff member was hired. Today, Aging Services represents over 100 facilities including CCRCs, assisted living, nursing home, and housing facilities, which serve over 10,000 older people. |
